Mr. David Rockefeller formed the Trilateral Commission (TC) in 1973 along with Henry Kissinger and former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brezezinski. This organization’s membership consists of about 300 to 350 private citizens of Europe, Pacific Asia, and North America, whose announced aim is to form closer cooperation between these three areas of the world. Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, Dick Cheney, and Senator Dianne Feinstein are among the current and past membership of the TC, and are associated with the CFR as well. The TC meets annually in Europe, North America, or Asia; and its members, similar to those in the CFR aren’t permitted to say anything about proceedings to the public. Like CFR, the TC publishes a magazine, release annual reports, and denies that it’s a secret society.

While most conspiracy theorists believe that the CFR and TC largely consists of individuals with good intent, they point out that the inner circle is indeed obsessed with the agenda of getting a New World Order in place with one global government.
Our research indicates that most of those who join the TC and the CFR are upright people. But it seems as if the higher echelon in these groups isn’t telling all of their members exactly what’s going on behind the scenes, and they are using their input to further their own agenda. We don’t suggest that those in control are evil, because they may believe that what they’re doing is for the betterment of the world. It is a matter of opinion as to the dangers of a New World Order; certainly most Americans would not want that to occur in our view. However, if that is the case, then we must be watchful and follow the actions of both the CFR and TC closely. Obviously, the more we know, the better prepared we’ll be to either support or resist something…

Perhaps a good example of the power and influence of the TC and CFR is the election of Jimmy Carter as the President of the United States. Several months prior to the 1976 Democratic National convention, a Gallup poll found that Mr. Carter had less than 4 percent of the Democratic Party’s support for the nomination. After the TC took Governor Carter under their wing, they mobilized their political power and money of Wall Street bankers, the academic community and the media controllers who were members of the CFR and TC to try to get the governor of Georgia nominated. Almost overnight, Carter was nominated and later became president. This example clearly demonstrates how strong the group’s power is. Accordingly, former senator Barry Goldwater said, “The TC is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the politics and government of the United States.” These strong words from former Senator Goldwater, points to the fact that he was one of the staunch opponents of the CFR and TC.

In other words, all countries would be run by one system that would control the world’s economy, be a peacekeeping entity with its own armed force, and distribute wealth from rich nations to poor ones so that all on earth could have a piece of the proverbial pie. In effect, religions might not continue as separate entities, and perhaps a new worldwide faith would likely come into being. New energy and environmental laws would be enacted; transportation, education, and communication could be controlled by the one government; travel would most likely be restricted; free enterprise and small business might be eliminated, and all taxes would support everyone in the world by redistributing wealth to poorer nations. Global social services, health care, retirement benefits, and birth and population control would be regulated by the ruling entity. Instead of individual governments running their own countries, you’d have on entity ruling the entire world…

Speculation will continue to abound for the foreseeable future relative to the factors that caused former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, change from advocating armed struggle and violence prior to his 27 year incarceration, to embracing non-violence and peaceful coexistence, following his release. Some suggest that Mandela was “broken” (physically and psychologically), similar to a wild horse that has been tamed, or seasoned. Others assert that his food in prison was laced with stuff that altered his behavior. Still others say that Mandela had a religious experience. Interestingly enough, there are those who argue that his domestic situation negatively impacted his revolutionary fervor during the almost three decades of confinement. The speculation goes on, and on, also including the bizarre… However, my perspective is based on the facts of my various visits to the Republic of South Africa, prior to and during his presidency, between 1991 and 1999. My maiden voyage in 1991 was a 21 day fact-finding mission as a guest of the South African Department of Foreign Affairs. During that official visit, I had several meetings with the leadership of the African National Congress (ANC), Pan African Congress (PAC), and executive committee members of Zulu Chief Buthelezi’s political organization, among lesser known black political groups.

It was very interesting watching virtually all of the world’s political leaders attending President Nelson Mandela’s, going home celebration in South Africa, and I took note of the few missing heads of state that did not publicly pay their respects to the former head of state and Noble Peace Prize laureate. I was compelled to reflect on the drama and revelations that accompanied the proceedings of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission chaired by Bishop Desmond Tutu. I found the expert witness testimonies and tears emotionally riveting and insightful… Undoubtedly, the overwhelming success of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission laid the groundwork for President Nelson Mandela’s political dispensation… Needless to say, the much hoped for post racial, free market, a democratic government that offered hope for economic equanimity, ultimately fell noticeably short of expectations… While the election of Mandela to the presidency was without question a “political” miracle, the corresponding “economic” miracle became a dream deferred. Moreover, no initiative for economic upward mobility of the black population in general was advanced and a persuasive argument can be advanced that the economic situation of the majority of South Africans has worsened under black rule. Consequently, the objective economic facts on the ground are generating an incendiary scenario among the masses, which positions the country’s future precariously. Unfortunately, unfolding current events in South Africa, the continents strongest economy, is fueling social and political unrest, and portends a dubious future.

Civil unrest seems to be proliferating among the employed masses in terms of rank and file workers, as well as the conventional union against management dynamic. But the traditional juxtaposition is complicated by the industrialization of the union movement in general, therefore unions are in survival mode and their fiduciary responsibility to advocate on behalf of the worker is compromised. This perceived paradigm shift in the nature of union behavior is animating local as well as the international community is causing anxiety in all quarters going forward. The current political and economic state of South Africa is invariably viewed through the prism of Mandela’s leadership period, which ended with the close of the twentieth century. While the Nelson (Madiba) Mandela dispensation is broadly acknowledged as a political golden age in that country, by many around the world, South Africa is precariously positioned as it engages the second decade of the twenty-first century. The post Madiba presidential leadership of the country to date has been poor, comparatively speaking, and the ANC political party has been internally rocked by scandal and an array of political challenges. Hence, the President Mandela leadership years are vastly distinguished from the years of all of his successors.

But, even if the successors to the post Mandela presidency were all fine leaders and the political, social, and economic status quo were stable, the exceptional leadership of Nelson Mandela could not be overstated… However, when evaluating the leadership of Mandela during his presidency, it must be distinguished from his leadership as a member of the ANC prior to and immediately following incarceration. The distinction between Madiba as the president of South Africa and his role as a leader of the revolutionary ANC is in order, and the two roles should be evaluated in its respective context. Furthermore, Madiba’s leadership and role as a reconciler stands alone and it required an appropriate and different job description. There are inherent political limitations of a head of state in terms of the responsibility to govern all the people. As a revolutionary leader of the ANC, his mandate was opposed to the state, such as it was, and the economic status quo. As the foremost advocate of reconciliation, non-violence, and peace, Mandela had to thoroughly embrace magnanimity and a high spiritual sense of brotherhood. These three different political dispositions of Nelson Mandela should necessarily be viewed and evaluated on their own terms. Be that as it may, many of the glowing and noble eulogies offered by South Africans and people from around the world, and all stations in life, are peppered with so-called shortcomings connected to his presidency and/or his leadership at the grassroots level. Most of the colorful alleged shortcomings articulated by political speculators, pundits, and detractors, seem to focus on the individual and his personality, while omitting context in terms of the practical political and economic facts on the ground in the country, and the unfolding geopolitical scenarios of the periods.

One major component that formulates a relevant context on the ground during in question is the nature and state of the African National Congress (ANC), prior to and following the Nelson Mandela Presidential dispensation. Accordingly, ones assessment and analysis of Nelson Mandela should be viewed in the context of the relative state of the ANC which played a dynamic role in Mandela’s process, going forward. The ANC enjoyed the overwhelming support of the masses during SA’s revolutionary period, and exercised political hegemony over its counterparts on the ground. There were two political organizations on the ground competitive with the ANC, in the names of the Pan-African Congress (PAC), and the Zulu political organization lead by Chief Buthelezi. Both of these organizations were composed of generally cohesive ethnic groups, as compared to the ANC, which was a multiracial political coalition of groups united to defeat Apartheid. The PAC was a radical political organization that advocated for a black nationalism, and they were animated by the land question. The PAC boosted a long history of political struggle while the Zulu’s historical exploits are legendary. Apart from the multiracial nature of the ANC, the organization had international affiliations that played into the conventional geo-political juxtaposition between the East and West stakeholders and role players. Specifically, much of the ANC leadership in South Africa was publicly committed communists, which colored the political power relations established and maintained by the organization. Therefore the political nature of communism, trade unionism, and the parochial political narrative of the “worker,” was a dynamic factor in local and geo-politics as well as in Mandela’s process that some argue is a curious if not a questionable metamorphosis.

Notwithstanding the pros and cons associated with the political disposition, personality, and presidency of Nelson Mandela, the internal dynamic among desperate and competing elements, ideologies, and politics within the ANC coalition, all helped facilitate the imposition of a sophisticated strategic political ideological imperative that bifurcated and transformed South Africa’s revolution… Interestingly enough, the strategic political ideological bifurcation may have reared its head, by way of the overwhelming unemployed and underemployed, the result of a neglected economic sector. Moreover, the respective unions and the trade union movement in general, continues to demonstrate poor forward moving leadership, and seems to be stuck on bygone tactics and self perpetuation. There are apparently no adjustment efforts underway in order to reform the labor union industry to be a sustainable entity, directed to twenty-first century economic and employment challenges. This is the shorthand version of how the bifurcation and impacted the ANC’s revolutionary movement…

The bifurcation as a practical matter isolated the political objective of the movement into the prospect of a “political” miracle in the form of the election of the first black South African to the presidency. This political strategy repositioned the land question and the redistribution of economic wealth, to the prospect of jobs, equal employment opportunities, and black entrepreneurship. Accordingly, the “economic” miracle would follow the success of the “political” miracle. A critical mass in the ANC began to promote the prospects of a “political” miracle by way of the election of the Republic of South Africa’s first black president. And the corresponding need of an “economic” miracle became overshadowed going forward. The philosophy and feasibility of successfully pulling off a “political” miracle followed by an “economic” miracle was promoted and became vogue with the movement’s critical mass… Unfortunately, black leadership was ultimately intoxicated by the intrigue and fascination of political power and leadership. The corresponding “economic” miracle imperative was henceforth compromised and reduced to employment rhetoric and jobs for the masses that were never delivered… Looking forward, we ask the following questions: Are the shortcomings of the Mandela administration responsible for South Africa’s economic status quo? Does the ANC bare responsibility for the economic and political status quo? Was the political bifurcation of the ANC’s strategic objective an odious political machination?

Founded in Madrid Spain by the Roman Catholic priest Josemaria Escriva in 1928, Opus Dei is a Catholic organization whose mission is to spread the word that everyone is called to become a saint and apostle of Jesus Christ and that life is a path to sanctity. The order’s formal name is “Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei” but it’s commonly referred to as Opus Dei (a work of God). Years subsequent to its founding, Opus Dei was established as a personal prelature by Pope John Paul II. Many Catholic leaders support what they see as the order’s innovative teachings, along with its complete fidelity to the church, through which it is hopefully able to solve the many challenges in the world. But this society has often been accused of secrecy, ultraconservative beliefs, a right-wing political agenda, and even cult-like methods as far as how it treats its members. Opus Dei came into the public’s consciousness because of the success of the novel, “The Da Vinci Code” wherein author Dan Brown calls it a “Catholic sect” on the book’s first page relating to “facts.” The author then spins the story in which the fanatical devotion of one of this order’s members and the self-interest of its leader are used by a mysterious retainer for sinister motives. Brown claims that his portrayal of Opus Dei was based on interviews with current and former members, along with various books about the organization…

Vatican analyst John L. Allen, Jr. did some studies on Opus Dei because of the criticism it has received, and he concluded that some of the order’s views are misunderstood due to their newness, yet he also said that Opus Dei was the most controversial force in the Catholic Church. In 1994, Dr. Massimo Introvigne, a conservative Catholic scholar, said that the organization was only a target because as a secular society they were “returning to religion.” Obviously there is considerable confusion about the organization, and to some extent the quotes from learned men may be partly responsible for leaving some people in a quandary, so to speak… For example, Pope John Paul II once declared: “Opus Dei is an institution which has in fact striven not only to enlighten with new lights the mission of the laity in the church and in society, but also to put it into practice. It has also striven to put into practice the teaching of the universal call to holiness, and to foster at all levels of society the sanctification of ordinary work, and these it does by means of honouring ordinary work.” What may add to the confusion is that while Opus Dei seems to want members of high academic ability, it also appears to believe in “family values” and the subjugation of women. Unquestioned obedience and a great degree of relegating power for the Church are also part of their creed.

John Allen Jr., states that Opus Dei’s assets in the United States are estimated at around $344 million, this is nothing in comparison to the annual revenue of the Catholic Church, which is about $100 billion. Although critics have charged that Opus Dei is very rich and uses its money to gain influence and political power, there aren’t enough facts to support this assertion. According to Alan Axelrod in “The International Encyclopedia of Secret Societies and Fraternal Orders,” “Opus Dei is unique within the Catholic Church as a personal prelature. This gives it a high degree of independence from local control by parishes or bishops and according to some writers this degree of control has made Opus Dei in effect a secret society.” Other critics allege that the agenda of Opus Dei is the introduction of an almost “medieval” form of Christianity and the support of reactionary governments and regimes, so long as they’re nominally Catholic. Perhaps one of the most probing analyses of the organization comes from Michael Walsh in his book Opus Dei: An investigation into the powerful Secret Society within the Catholic Church, in which he links it to extreme right-wing political movements and the Vatican banking scandals of the 1980s. Walsh indicates that Opus Dei may have tried to buy respectability by pumping huge sums of money into the Vatican, and he also implicates them in a number of scandals. According to statistics submitted in 1979 by the then-head of the order, Opus Dei had members in 479 universities, 664 newspapers, 52 radio and TV stations, 38 news and advertising companies and 12 movie-production companies.

As a former member of the Rosicrucian Order during the 1970s, I am competent to observe that the original members of this secret society were Gnostic and keepers of their mysterious knowledge. The largest of the modern-day Rosicrucian Orders is “the

 

(AMORC),” which is headquartered in San Jose, California. Currently, AMORC claims no religious affiliation asserting that their beliefs don’t interfere with any faith. Nevertheless, the teachings relate to areas of self-improvement and enlightenment. But, they also deal with subjects such as reincarnation, soul and astral travel, parapsychology, meditation and the esoteric. I suggest that the fundamental philosophy of the “Rosy Cross” is ecumenical in the context of religious appreciation.

 

The beginnings of the Rosicrucian movement are generally thought to be in the 15th or 17th centuries, although some believe that their beginnings date back to ancient Egyptian times. Regardless of when the order actually started, its origins are steeped in mystery. According to popular history, the order came about thanks to a monk named Christian Rosenkreuz, who was born in Germany in 1378. At the age of 16 he traveled to Damascus, Egypt, and Morocco, where he reportedly was tutored by Islamic masters of occult arts. He then returned to Germany and formulated the Rosicrucian Order with three monks from the original cloister that raised him. Rosenkreuz expanded the membership to eight monks and built the Spiritus Sanctum (House of the Holy Spirit), which was completed in 1409. The Spiritus Sanctum became Rosenkreuz’s tomb when he died in 1484 at the age of 106. Knowledge of the tomb was then lost for about 120 years – it was rediscovered in the year 1604, which led to a resurrection of the Rosicrucian Order. The renewed interest has been attributed to the works of a German Lutheran pastor by the name of Johann Valentin Andrae (1586-1654). Andrae published three documents describing the Rosicrucian Order: “The Fama Fraternitas of the Meritorious Order of the Rosy Cross” (1614), “The Confession of the Rosicrucian Fraternity” (1615), and “The Chemical Marriage of Christian Rosenkreuz” (1616).

Some modern Rosicrucian groups have differing opinions relative to the story of Rosenkreuz. Some believe that he existed as the above points out, others see the story as a parable that indicates more profound truths, yet still others believe that Christian Rosenkreuz is a pseudonym for whom many believe to be Francis Bacon. Along with the narrative of Christian Rosenkreuz, there is a lesser-known story put forth by a Rosicrucuanist-Mason group known as “Golden and Rosy Cross” in the 18th century that also described the order’s beginnings. In this rendition, the movement began in the year 46 AD, led by an Alexandrian Gnostic sage named Ormus. He and his six followers were evidently converted to Christianity by the disciple Mark; thus, the Rosicrucian Order was formed by combining Christianity, ancient Egyptian and Gnostic mysteries. Still others think that the sect started with pharaoh, Akhenaton in ancient Egypt. However, Rosenkreuz is acknowledged by most Rosicrucian’s as their founder. On his trip to the Middle East and Africa, Rosenkreuz reportedly studied alchemy, astrology, occult magic, exorcism, the Kabbalah and other mystical subjects. The Order spread throughout Europe garnering advocates such as Robert Fludd (1574-1637), who was alleged to be Grand Master of the Priory of Sion, he subsequently published A Compendius Apology for the Fraternity of the Rosy Cross, and Michael Maier (1568 – 1622), a physician of alchemy who helped merge that practice into the groups philosophy.
